God Causes All Things To Work Together

Updated: Apr 28, 2022

Our great and merciful God, our faithful and trustworthy Lord promises to completely make all things sufficiently perfect for those whose first duty is loving God. He completely performs all parts or particulars of a situation to come together to produce favorable and effective results -- results that fulfill His plans and His purposes. For those of us who have accepted the truth of Christ into our hearts and have put our confidence in Him, we can trust that He will never leave us to struggle through difficult circumstances on our own (Deut. 31:6). We can trust in our precious Lord knowing undoubtedly that our security is in heaven. Our faith doesn't have to falter during times of trial and persecution because God is always by our side to guide us in the direction we should go. At that point the choice is up to us to either follow and trust in His unfailing love, care, and goodness or to listen to the lies of the enemy and not believe in God's perfect plan for our lives. ------ Furthermore, because of Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for He chose us from the beginning, and all things happen just as He decided long ago. Ephesians 1:11

Because the Lord knew what would happen in our lives before we were even born, we can be confident in how faithful and trustworthy He is with His promises for our lives. He will accomplish all He has planned for us because His promises are never broken (Psalm 139:16). Others around us may have broken their word or hurt us deeply, but the Lord will be faithful to us in everything. He is faithful forgive, faithful to make us strong, and faithful to shelter us in His wings. Unlike people, He does not change His word or leave us to stand alone. Therefore, we can entrust our lives to Him with confidence that none of His promises go unfulfilled. ----- For the Word of he Lord holds true, and everything He does is worthy of our trust. Psalm 33:4

Not only is our precious God faithful and trustworthy, but He is also omnipresent and omniscient. He knows everything we do and all we think. There is not one place that we can run to that He is not with us, and not one secret that can be kept from Him (Hebrews 4:13). However, in knowing that He sees all, we can also take comfort in the fact that we can call on Him anytime, day or night. The Lord is right beside us desiring to strengthen us and lead us in His ways (Psalm 46:1). He wants for us to seek after Him with our whole hearts, knowing that if we do this we will find peace in Him. Worship and serve Him with a whole heart and willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and understands and knows every plan and thought. If you seek Him you will find Him. But if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever. 1 Chronicles 28:9

God shows us over and over again in Scripture just how powerful He is. He is omnipotent and because of this only He can guide us. Because of the ultimate authority He has over His creation, our fears and doubts about life can be calmed for He is the one who is truly in control (Jeremiah 32:17). His wisdom is vast and His miracles mighty. With Him all things that may seem impossible are possible (Matthew 19:26). He will rescue us, deliver us, uphold us and always lead us to a place of safety. Since we are in His loving care we will never be hopeless. Our cries will never go unheard by our most powerful God (Psalm 18:16-19). He will remain by our side and comfort us in every situation. Yes, He may allow us to go through these trials, but He will also lift us up and restore us. Your righteousness O God reaches to the highest heavens. You have done such wonderful things. Who can compare with you O God? You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth. Psalm 71:19-20

The Lord God is also just. He is fair with each one of us. To Him not one sin is greater than another and therefore if we are His children, He will discipline us impartially when we fall. He disciplines us because He loves us and does not want us lost. This discipline is further proof of His sacrificial love, and we need to be thankful for the security of this discipline and ask the Lord what we are to learn from it (Hebrews 12:5-6). Our Savior's desire is that we would come to Him in repentance and feel His forgiveness, compassion, and love. At this point we can have complete fellowship and joy with Him (1 John 1:9). Our loving God corrects us to keep us from harm. He is a loving Father who wants His children safe and wants us to share in the kingdom He has prepared for us as our inheritance. For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God's discipline is always right and good for us because it means we will share in His holiness. Hebrews 12:10

The Lord is faithful and trustworthy, ever present, all-knowing, all-powerful, and just. Because of this we can come to His throne with confidence that He can work any situation for our good. We must trust that even if we can't see the light at the end of the tunnel that God is our light at the end of the tunnel. He will guide us, strengthen us, uphold us. Through Him we can come through the fire as pure gold.
