Focused On Healing In Church
One third of the people who attend our churches on a regular basis have been directly affected by abortion. Most will choose to suppress their feelings because of the extreme pain related to having had an abortion. Calvary Rio Rancho has addressed this issue in our church in order to “Break the Silence” and focus on the need of healing those impacted by abortion and show the love of Jesus and healing that is available. Jesus said, “If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” And that is exactly what the Broken from Silence Ministry has done here. Removing the weight of guilt and shame while allowing these women to accept the forgiveness offered by our Lord, gives each person the ability to progress in their walk with the Lord and their families.

Walked Away A Changed Woman
You have no idea just how blessed we were by this retreat!!!! God used Broken from Silence in a mighty way in my life! I went with the expectation of being a trainee and walked away a changed woman. Planting Post-Abortive Mentors
Love Life ministries has been such a blessing in our lives! Through our outreach in California and now here in Arizona, we have seen numerous moms decide for life. But it doesn’t end there! We are equipped and ready to provide whatever the mom needs, such as jobs, housing, baby supplies and most of all, full support of a life mentor that walks through the entire pregnancy and birth. We are also training up and planting post-abortive mentors through “Broken from Silence” within the churches. We have seen that when moms and or dads that have experienced abortion get healed and set free they are the mightiest voices for life!

Broke My Chains
God used Broken from Silence to break the chains that still had me in bondage from my participation in abortion many years ago. As God revealed His amazing character in the scriptures, who He is, who I am in Him, and who I am to Him - His grace, mercy and love for me replaced the guilt and shame. I met Susan Swafford 24 years ago during one of Ramah International's first abortion recovery training events. It's been a challenging journey, but I attended every class that first semester of Broken from Silence. I was no longer in that dark cocoon; I was gaining my wings of freedom from guilt and shame and I was finally able to grieve the loss of my son. I completed the class with a sense of relief and weight off my shoulders. My leader prayed for God's next step for me and the following semester I was co-leading the class. I did that for two semesters and now I lead the post-abortive ministry at Calvary of Albuquerque. WOW! Lord, you do use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. "Here I am Lord, send me." He has been sending me for the past three years. It has been my honor and privilege to witness women becoming from from the pain of guilt and shame their abortions have caused them.

Susan Swafford, the Broken From Silence Ministry Director, came as the speaker for a retreat our center was having for women with past abortion hurts. I went to this retreat to assist Susan any way I could. I left with so much more. She was passionate about sharing God's word, grace and mercy with those who attended. She is an amazing leader, speaker and shines the light of Jesus. After this retreat I knew that I needed to invite Susan to come and share her gifts with my entire staff and board.
